ASTM International’s concrete pipe committee (C13) presented the 2021 Robert R. Liteheiser Award to William E. Washabaugh, president of Northern Concrete Pipe Inc (Bay City, Michigan, USA). Washabaugh was honored for his outstanding work on box culvert and other standards revisions in the committee.

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Kenneth T. White, principal at Consultive Services (Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA) for his contributions to the performance of buildings committee (E06). 

ASTM International’s ships and marine technology committee (F25) honored Regina Farr, program analyst with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (Washington, DC, USA), with the John Nachtsheim Award.

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Kevin K. Jurrens, acting chief of the Intelligent Systems Division at the National Institute of Standards Technology (NIST) (Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA), for his contributions to the additive manufacturing technologies committee (F42).

ASTM International’s plastics committee (D20) presented the Robert MacFarlane Award of Excellence to Dr. Garry T. Yamashita. 

Yamashita was honored for his sustained participation, valued leadership, and exemplary technical contributions to the committee.

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to David R. Forester. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. 

Darwin E. Millard, chief science officer, Canada at the Final Bell Corporation, was awarded the 2021 ASTM International James A. Thomas President’s Leadership Award.

ASTM International’s petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants committee (D02) presented the George V. Dyroff Award to Michael Gent.

The committee recognized Gent for his significant contributions to the committee throughout his distinguished career. An ASTM International member since 1987, Gent was previously honored by the committee with the Award of Appreciation (2003).

ASTM International’s petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants committee (D02) presented the Lowrie B. Sargent, Jr. Award to Mark T. Devlin, technical advisor at Afton Chemical Corporation, Richmond, Virginia, USA.

Devlin was honored for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the committee. He was previously honored by the committee with the Award of Appreciation (2002), Eagle Award (2017), and Award of Excellence (2018).
