ASTM International Honors David R. Forester with Top Annual Award from Key Committee

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to David R. Forester. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. 

Forester was honored for his outstanding contributions to the petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants committee (D02) and significant technical contributions in authoring new standards.

An ASTM International member since 1984, Forester has previously been recognized with the Award of Appreciation (1989, 2002), Award of Excellence (2010), Lowrie B. Sargent, Jr. Award (2015), Sydney D. Andrews Scroll of Achievement (2016), Eagle Award (2017), and Kurt Strauss Steady Hand Award (2020). He is also a member of the catalysts committee (D32).

Forester retired in 2019 after nearly 45 years in the industry. He previously held various research and management positions at Texaco, Betz Laboratories, Lubrizol Corporation, and Power Service Products, and Fuel Quality Services Inc. 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Texas A&M University. In addition to ASTM International, Forester is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and Coordinating Research Council.
