ASTM International Honors Michael Gent with George V. Dyroff Award

ASTM International’s petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants committee (D02) presented the George V. Dyroff Award to Michael Gent.

The committee recognized Gent for his significant contributions to the committee throughout his distinguished career. An ASTM International member since 1987, Gent was previously honored by the committee with the Award of Appreciation (2003).

Gent served as committee section chair and subcommittee secretary. He has been involved in the development of countless lubricant industry standards.

Gent has nearly 40 years of experience in the field of fluid power research. He served as an applications engineer for Quaker Chemical Corporation before founding his own business, Conestoga USA, Inc. in 1986. Retiring in 2019, Gent now owns and operates Cattywampus Studios where he works as a teacher and visual artist.
