ASTM International Nondestructive Testing Committee Honors Brian White
ASTM International’s nondestructive testing committee (E07) presented the Charles W. Briggs Award to Brian White, imaging scientist with Carestream Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Rochester, New York (USA).
An ASTM International member since 2012, White was honored for his continuous and outstanding contributions to the work of the committee through its subcommittees, sections, and task forces.
ASTM International Honors Roland T. Warzel III with Top Annual Award
ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Roland Warzel for his contributions to ASTM’s international committee on metal powders and metal powder products (B09).
ASTM International Honors Ryan Pelter with Top Annual Award
ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Ryan Pelter for his contributions to ASTM’s committee on steel, stainless steel, and related alloys (A01).
The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Pelter was recognized for his dependable leadership, technical expertise, and surpassing work across committees on standardization of steel.
ASTM Temperature Measurement Committee Honors Joseph T. Mastropierro
ASTM International’s temperature measurement committee (E20) presented the Robert D. Thompson Memorial Award to Joseph T. Mastropierro, laboratory manager with Cannon Instrument Company (State College, PA, USA).
An ASTM International member since 2007, Mastropierro was recognized for continuing leadership on the committee and for contributions to the development of temperature measurement standards. The committee previously recognized Mastropierro with the Outstanding Service Award.
ASTM International Member Ronald Adamson Honored with H.R. “Russ” Ogden Award
ASTM International’s committee on reactive and refractory metals and alloys (B10) has awarded committee member Ronald Adamson with the 2020 H.R. “Russ” Ogden Award.
Established by the committee in honor of its first chair, the Ogden Award is given for outstanding accomplishments in the science and technology of reactive and refractory metals and alloys. In addition to being a member of Committee B10, Adamson served on ASTM’s Committee on Publications from 2010-2016.
ASTM International Honors Brian Grochal with James A. Thomas President’s Leadership Award
Brian Grochal, director of product safety and quality at BARK (New York, New York, USA) was awarded the 2022 James A. Thomas President’s Leadership Award.
The President’s Leadership Award recognizes individuals early in their ASTM International career who have significantly advanced ASTM’s mission through extraordinary accomplishment, example, and vision. The award is given in honor of James. A. Thomas, who served as ASTM’s president from 1992 to 2017.
ASTM International Honors William Luecke with Top Annual Award

Luecke was recognized for his collaborative leadership, boundless diligence, and deep technical expertise in developing mechanical testing standards.
