ASTM Temperature Measurement Committee Honors Joseph T. Mastropierro

ASTM International’s temperature measurement committee (E20) presented the Robert D. Thompson Memorial Award to Joseph T. Mastropierro, laboratory manager with Cannon Instrument Company (State College, PA, USA).

An ASTM International member since 2007, Mastropierro was recognized for continuing leadership on the committee and for contributions to the development of temperature measurement standards. The committee previously recognized Mastropierro with the Outstanding Service Award.

Mastropierro has been in his current position with Cannon Instrument Company since 2020, having previously served the organization since 2005 in the positions of chemist – group leader and quality assurance chemist. He’s also held positions with STP Products Manufacturing Company. Mastropierro holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Clarkson University.

In addition to ASTM International, Mastropierro is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, American Chemical Society, Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers, and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
