Eric R. Boes, corporate quality engineer for Delta Faucet Co. in Indianapolis, Ind., will serve a three-year term on the board of directors of ASTM International. An ASTM fellow, Boes became an ASTM member in 1991.

Boes lives in Indianapolis, Ind.

Benedict R. Bonazza, Ph.D., retired principal chemist, TI Automotive, LLC, in Caro, Mich., has become a member of the ASTM International board of directors for a three-year term.

Bonazza is a resident of Lapeer, Mich.

Ricardo Rodrigues Fragoso, general director of Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas in São Paulo, Brazil, has been named to a three-year term on the ASTM International board of directors.

Michael McGaw, Ph.D., president of McGaw Technology in Lakewood, Ohio, has received an ASTM International Award of Merit and the accompanying title of fellow, the highest organizational recognition for individual contributions to standards activities.

McGaw resides in Lakewood, Ohio.

Muthiah Kasi, executive vice president, operations, at Alfred Benesch & Company, Chicago, Ill., was awarded first prize in the 2007 ASTM International Advantage Award paper competition. The contest called for original case studies that demonstrated the impact and benefits of the use of ASTM standards.

Kathleen Riley (Kitty) Kono, recently retired as vice president of global cooperation at ASTM International, received the Astin-Polk International Standards Medal from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) at an October 17 reception and dinner held in Washington, D.C.
