ASTM International’s exoskeletons and exosuits committee (F48) presented its first Student Chapter Chair Award of Appreciation to Aidan Waite, design engineer at Allan J. Hargreaves.

Waite graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2023, the same year he joined ASTM, receiving a 1^st class master’s of engineering degree with a major in mechanical engineering. During his time at UCLan, Waite’s focus was research into exoskeletons and exosuits through the university’s student chapter F48SC, which he led for seven months.

The award was given in recognition of Waite’s outstanding leadership and guidance as the inaugural student chapter chair for committee F48. The committee and UCLan student chapter members present this award as, “a token of our deepest appreciation and well wishes for his bright future.”
