ASTM International has presented the A. Ivan Johnson Outstanding Achievement Award to Gary N. Durham for his contributions to ASTM’s soil and rock committee (D18).

Durham is one of four recipients of the award for the year. A member of ASTM International since 1972, he has been previously honored with the D18 Special Service Award (2000, 2002), the Award of Merit (2007), and a previous A. Ivan Johnson Outstanding Achievement Award (2015), alongside numerous other awards.

Durham currently serves as president of Durham Holdings, Inc., a position he has held since 2009, with decades of experience as an engineer, manager, and expert in design, production, and marketing of engineering and environmental equipment. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
