Julia Schimmelpenningh Joins ASTM International Board of Directors

Julia Schimmelpenningh, architectural applications technical manager for Eastman Chemical Company (Springfield, Massachusetts, USA), will serve a three-year term on the ASTM International board of directors. 

Eastman Chemical Company is a global specialty material and chemical company.

Before joining Eastman Chemical Company in 1988, Schimmelpenningh held positions at Solutia Inc. and Monsanto Chemical Company. 

An ASTM International member since 1992, Schimmelpenningh serves as chair of the performance of buildings committee (E06). She has also been chair of the security systems and equipment committee (F12). Schimmelpenningh has received the Award of Merit, Award of Appreciation, and a Service Award for her contributions to ASTM International.

Schimmelpenningh holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Emmanuel College.
