The next meeting of ASTM International Committee E52 on Forensic Psychophysiology will be held at the 36th Annual Seminar of the American Association of Police Polygraphists (AAPP) in Charlotte, N.C., on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

This meeting will be conducted during other scheduled classes in order to provide examiners and other interested attendees with information regarding ASTM International Committee E52 and its standards, as well as an opportunity for attendees to participate in the standards development process by providing feedback to proposed revisions of existing E52 standards. The importance and implications of standards developed in a voluntary consensus forum, such as within ASTM International, will be discussed. Attendees will receive continuing education hours for their attendance.

The meeting will include discussion of previously balloted standards, specifically pertaining to ASTM E2000, Standard Guide for Minimum Basic Education and Training of Individuals Involved in the Detection of Deception (PDD), and ASTM E2080, Standard Guide for Clinical Psychophysiological Detection of Deception (PDD) Examinations for Sex Offenders.  Additionally, the committee will be reviewing and discussing ASTM E2031, Standard Practice for Quality Control of Psychophysiological Detection of Deception (Polygraph) Examinations, in order to allow attendees the opportunity to provide input prior to this standard being balloted for revisions in the fall of 2013.
