Washington Fire Company in Conshohocken Thanks ASTM International for New Water Rescue Safety Suits

The Washington Fire Company No. 1 in Conshohocken, Pa., has expressed gratitude to ASTM International for its recent support.  Donations made by ASTM International allowed the fire company to purchase five new water rescue safety suits, which include helmets, vests, boots, rope bags and gloves.

These suits are essential to protecting responders during water rescues. According to Lieutenant Rob Dronitsky, extreme weather conditions over the past few years have led to an increase in water rescues, both in the borough and in neighboring municipalities.

Based in West Conshohocken, ASTM International actively supports charitable causes in West Conshohocken, Conshohocken and the greater Montgomery County and Philadelphia areas, and has made several donations to Washies and other local fire companies over the years.

Washington Fire Company Captain Mike Maxwell (center) is seen here wearing one of the new water rescue safety suits donated by ASTM, along with (from left to right) Firefighter Chris Savage; Bob Bendig, Director, General Services, ASTM; Ken Pearson, Senior Vice President, Operations, ASTM; and Lieutenant Rob Dronitsky.
