New Coal and Coke Manual Available from ASTM International

Manual 61, Guide to ASTM Test Methods for the Analysis of Coal and Coke, is now available from ASTM International. This unique volume includes the essential elements of all ASTM analytical tests used to characterize coal and coke.

Written by R.A. Kishore Nadkarni, Manual 61 includes brief descriptions of all 56 ASTM test methods that cover the physical, chemical and spectroscopic analytical techniques to qualitatively and quantitatively identify more than 40 chemical and physical properties of coal, coke, their products and by-products.

ASTM International Committee D05 on Coal and Coke leads the worldwide efforts to standardize the test methods used to characterize coal and coke properties. These ASTM standards are considered to be the final authority for the quality of a coal- or coke-related product.
