James A. McMaster Receives ASTM International H.R. Ogden Award

ASTM International Committee B10 on Reactive and Refractory Metals and Alloys has honored James A. McMaster, a consultant with MC Consulting in Huletts Landing, N.Y., with the H.R. "Russ" Ogden Award.  McMaster was cited for his outstanding accomplishments in the science and technology of reactive and refractory metals and alloys. 

McMaster, who joined ASTM International in 2002, is active in a number of subcommittees within Committee B10.  He currently serves as member-at-large on B10.90, the executive subcommittee. 

After graduating from Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, in 1966 with a bachelor's degree in welding engineering, McMaster worked in various engineering and management positions in the titanium industry over the course of his career before founding MC Consulting in 1997.  As a consultant, his work focuses on titanium metal technical application, specifications and standards, technology, welding and manufacturing, and market development. 

In addition to ASTM International, McMaster is a member of the American Welding Society (AWS), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and SAE International.  He  completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School, Cambridge, Mass., in 1977.
