ASTM International Harlan J. Anderson Award Given to Donna M. Beals

Donna M. Beals, a Fellow Scientist at the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) in Aiken, S.C., has won the 2007 ASTM International Harlan J. Anderson Award for her outstanding contributions to Committee C26 on Nuclear Fuel Cycle.

Beals resides in Aiken, S.C.

An ASTM International member since 1995, Beals is recording secretary for the C26 main committee, and she also serves on Committees D19 on Water and E54 on Homeland Security Applications.

Beals graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in marine science, and worked for the United States Testing Co. in Richland, Wash., as a research associate before joining the SRNL staff. In her current position she works on environmental radiochemistry and developing methods to measure low levels of natural and man-made radioactivity in the environment.
