Window-Wall Interface STP Now Available from ASTM International

STP 1484, Performance and Durability of Window-Wall Interface, is now available for purchase from ASTM International. The volume includes the latest information on the topic. The book offers new research, testing data, and material about the creation of installation standards that attempt to identify installation methods and construction sequencing that integrate fenestration products into wall claddings.

Barry G. Hardman, National Building Science Corp.; Carl R. Wagus, Pittco Architectural Metals; and Theresa A. Weston, DuPont Nonwovens, served as editors for the work.

Ten peer-reviewed papers cover:
• Integration of windows or doors with their related interfaces—lashings, sealants, claddings, and more,
• Considerations of weather, exposure, job site conditions,
• Compatibility or incompatibility of adjacent and integrated materials,
• Product testing and the testing of installation methods and techniques,
• The role that permeability plays in the selection of materials, and
• The ability or inability of self-adhered materials to maintain their original adhesion properties, long-term serviceability; and durability.

This new publication provides information needed to write specifications, create or interpret standards, evaluate materials for product selection, and recommend changes to the building codes.

Copies of STP 1484, Performance and Durability of the Window—Wall Interface (2006, 108 Pages, soft cover, ISBN: 0-8031-3410-X, ISBN: 978—0-8031-3410-X, stock #STP1484) are available for $41 from ASTM Customer Service (phone: 610/832-9585, fax: 610/832-9555, or e-mail: https://www.astm.org/contact/), or online at www.astm.org.
