Robert B. Waller, Jr., Joins ASTM International Board of Directors

Robert B. Waller, Jr., CAE, president and chief operating officer of Association Headquarters in Mt. Laurel, N.J., an association management company providing services for voluntary membership organizations, has joined the ASTM International Board of Directors for the term 2005 to 2007. Waller lives in Medford, N.J.

Waller’s professional roles also include president of the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association, executive vice president of the Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association, and executive director of the National Association of Chewing Gum Manufacturers. He provides strategic leadership, serves as an industry spokesperson, addresses consumer product safety issues, oversees trade show management, and works as a liaison with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

An ASTM International member since 1995, Waller serves on numerous subcommittees of ASTM Committee F15 on Consumer Products and is a member of Committee D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials and Applications. He is an ex-officio member of the Committee on Standards as well as past chairman of the Committee on Technical Committee Operations. Waller is an ASTM Fellow and 2002 recipient of the ASTM Award of Merit.

Waller serves as a member of nonprofit boards and is a frequent speaker on topics related to association management. He holds a B.S. in business management from Castleton State College in Castleton, Vermont.

In addition to ASTM International, Waller is the president of the Flag Manufacturers Association of America, a member of the American Society of Association Executives, the International Association for Association Management Companies, the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization, and the New Jersey Society of Association Executives.
