Penn State Prof. Howard P. Medoff, Ph.D., Elected Chair of ASTM International Committee on Pedestrian/Walkway Safety and Footwear

Howard P. Medoff, Ph.D., associate professor of engineering at the Pennsylvania State University, Abington, Pa., has been elected chairman of ASTM International Committee F13 on Pedestrian/Walkway Safety and Footwear, a committee of some 330 members responsible for 14 standards published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards. He is also a member of F27 on Snow Skiing.

Medoff lives in Jenkintown, Pa.

In addition to ASTM International, Medoff is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. At Penn State, Medoff concentrates on structural analysis, biomechanics and gait analysis, and failure analysis.

A graduate of the City College of New York with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering, Medoff earned his master of science in mechanical engineering from Widener University and his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Vermont.
