Patrick M. Cole, chief chemist at ATI Allvac in Monroe, N.C., has been honored with the Ted Linde Leadership Award from ASTM International.  ASTM Committee E01 on Analytical Chemistry for Metals, Ores and Related Materials cited Cole for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the work of the committee.

Cole is a resident of Monroe, N.C.

An ASTM International member since 1995, Cole is active in various subcommittees within Committee E01 and is chair of Subcommittee E01.08 on Ni and Co and High Temperature Alloys.  For his contributions, he has been honored with two Awards of Appreciation from the committee, in 2000 and 2005.  He also serves on Committee B02 on Nonferrous Metals and Alloys, where he acts as the liaison to Committee E01. 

Cole began his career with ATI Allvac in 1983 after graduating from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C., with a bachelor's degree in chemistry.  His work over the years has focused on the QA analytical chemistry associated with the production of nickel, cobalt superalloys and titanium alloys.  As chief chemist at ATI Allvac, Cole is responsible for the QA/technical operations of the Monroe, N.C., chemical laboratory, and serves as a technical resource for labs in Richland, Wash., Lockport, N.Y., and Sheffield, England.
