ASTM International Honors Larry W. Tucker with Top Annual Award from Key Committee
ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Larry W. Tucker, director of norms and standards for Metrohm USA (Riverview, Florida, USA), for his contributions to the petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants committee (D02).
The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Tucker was honored for his outstanding committee leadership and contributions towards improvements within the fuels and lubricants marketplace for consumers.
An ASTM International member since 2006, Tucker has previously been recognized with the Award of Appreciation (2009), Award of Excellence (2012), Eagle Award (2016), and 10 Year Service Award (2020). He is also a member of the committees on nuclear fuel cycle (C26), coal and coke (D05), aromatic, industrial, specialty, and related chemicals (D16), water (D19), electrical insulating liquids and gases (D27), leather (D31), cannabis (D37), molecular spectroscopy and separation science (E13), homeland security applications (E54), manufacture of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products (E55), declarable substances in materials (F40), and corrosion of metals (G01).
Tucker has served in his current position since 2018, having previously held numerous positions at Brinkman Instruments, Inc. before joining Metrohm USA in 2004 as vice president of sales.
He holds a bachelor’s degree chemistry from the University of West Florida. In addition to ASTM International, Tucker is a member of the Association of Official Agricultural Chemists International.
