ASTM International’s environmental assessment, risk management, and corrective action committee (E50) has presented its 2024 Gwen Eklund Award of Excellence to Stephanie Fiorenza.

The award is given to honor exemplary service, innovative leadership, and professionalism on behalf of committee E50.

Fiorenza currently works as oil and gas sector technical solution lead and principal scientist at Arcadis U.S., Inc, a position she’s held since 2021. Her career focus is groundwater, biodegradation and bioremediation, and she previously worked as a remediation specialist for BP.

An ASTM International member since 2008, Fiorenza has been previously honored by the committee with the Award of Appreciation (2016) and the International Achievement Award (2022).

Fiorenza received her Ph.D. in environmental science and engineering from Rice University.
