ASTM International’s medical and surgical materials and devices committee (F04) has issued one of its 2023 Patrick G. Laing Awards to Larry Kay, director of new product development at Fort Wayne Metals Research Products LLC.
The Laing Award is conferred for significant and outstanding contributions in the field of medical and surgical devices.
An ASTM International member since 2005, Kay had been previously honored by the committee with the Robert Fairer Award (2009), the Leroy Wyman Award (2018), and the E08 Award of Appreciation (2015).
Kay’s career concentration has been developing new technologies and processes, specializing in wire and cable assemblies. He obtained his associate degree, bachelor of science degree, and master of science degree from Purdue University. In addition to ASTM, Kay is a member of ASM International.
