ASTM International’s plastic piping committee (F17) has awarded its Frank W. Reinhart and Henry “Butch” Kuhlman Award to Bryan E. Hauger, president of both Bryan Hauger Consulting and Extrusion Consulting.
The award is conferred to Hauger in grateful acknowledgment of his faithful and significant contributions in furthering the cause of sound and effective plastics piping standardization, as exemplified by Frank W. Reinhart and Henry W. Kuhlman, charter members of committee F17.
Hauger’s background as a chemist led him into plastic pipe manufacturing, and he held a variety of positions at Phillips Petroleum and Chevron Phillips Chemical. Since 2014, he has led his own consulting company, as well as two other companies with interest in plastics and plastic pipe: Extrusion Consulting, Inc. and BHC Equipment Sales.
The committee has previously honored Hauger with several awards, including three Certificates of Appreciation (2008, 2011, 2017) and two Special Service Awards (2015, 2021). He also received an ASTM Committee on Standards Service Award (2019) and an ASTM E07 Service Recognition (2020).
An ASTM International member since 2001, Hauger is also a member of the American Petroleum Institute, the Plastics Pipe Institute, and the Society of Plastics Engineers.
