ASTM International Honors Adam Sawicki with Composites Award

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., Oct. 28, 2022 – ASTM International’s composite materials committee (D30) presented the 2022 Wayne W. Stinchcomb Memorial Lecture and Award to Adam Sawicki, senior technical fellow at The Boeing Company.

The award, established in 1995, is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions, with an emphasis on membership in research, engineering, or teaching the technology of composite materials. The committee honored Sawicki for his significant contributions to the advancements of composite technology, and in recognition of the Memorial Lecture delivered on September 21, 2022.

An ASTM International member since 1998, Sawicki has previously been recognized with the Award of Merit (2019), Distinguished Service Award (2006), Award of Appreciation, and Committee on Standards Service Award (2008).

Sawicki’s industry concentration is in subjects including composite structural analysis and composite allowables. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in aeronautics and astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a master’s of business administration from Villanova University.
