Michael B. Gilton Becomes Chair of ASTM Vitrified Clay Pipe Committee

Michael B. Gilton, a district engineer with the Salida Sanitary District in Salida, Calif., has become chair of ASTM International Committee C04 on Vitrified Clay Pipe, which is responsible for 13 standards published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards.

Gilton lives in Turlock, Calif.

 An ASTM International member since 1999, Gilton is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Water Works Association.

In addition to his Salida position, Gilton is district engineer for the South San Joaquin Irrigation District and an adjunct professor of engineering at Modesto Junior College. In both public engineering roles, he focuses on hydraulics and environmental engineering. He previously held positions with the City of Modesto and the City of Santa Clara.

Gilton graduated from Modesto Junior College with an A.S. in engineering, and he earned his B.S. and M.S. in civil engineering from San Jose State University.
