Key ASTM International Committee Presents Top Award to Stephen Wilcox

ASTM International’s committee on cement (C01), presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Stephen Wilcox of ARGOS USA, Alpharetta, Georgia, USA. The prestigious award, which includes the title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contribution to developing standards. 

Wilcox was honored for his outstanding contributions and leadership in ASTM International’s committee on cement and developing standards related to cement and concrete materials, and for providing technical expertise and dedicated service to ASTM International committee administration. 

An ASTM member since 1995, Wilcox has also received the Award of Appreciation (2013 and 2017) from the committee. He is also a member of the committee on concrete and concrete aggregates (C09). 

Wilcox, the cement technical director at ARGOS USA, has held his position since 2011, having previously worked many years at Lafarge North America as a quality manager, optimization manager, technical transfer manager, and a regional technical director. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.  

In addition to ASTM, Wilcox is a member of the Portland Cement Association, Slag Cement Association, and the American Concrete Institute.
