Kenneth F. Yarosh Honored with ASTM International Award of Merit

Kenneth F. Yarosh has been honored with a 2005 ASTM International Award of Merit and the accompanying title of fellow. Yarosh, who is European Technical Manager, Global Construction Industry, for Dow Corning in Seneffe, Belgium, has been cited "For outstanding technical contributions to the organization and building of consensus in ASTM International and in particular to Committee C24 on Building Seals and Sealants." The honor is the highest ASTM International recognition for individual contributions to standards activities.

Yarosh lives in Waterloo, Belgium.

Active in ASTM International since 1994, Yarosh is secretary of C24 and serves on several C24 standards development groups; he is also a member of ASTM International Committee E06 on Performance of Buildings. Yarosh participates in many interlaboratory studies and has worked on the development of a number of key standards for the glazing and weatherproofing industry. In addition, he serves as a global liaison between the sealants industry and C24, and he has been a principal author of technical papers for C24 and E06 symposia.

Committee C24 has previously recognized Yarosh's contributions to the committee with Certificates of Appreciation in 1998 and 2000, and with the C24 Sealants Hall of Fame Award in 2001.

A member of the Dow Corning construction industry team for the past 20 years, Yarosh has focused on silicone sealants for use in building construction. He has also worked on structural glazing, protective glazing and building envelope weatherproofing. Before joining the Dow Corning staff, Yarosh worked for three years in product development at the Stepan Co. in Northfield, Ill.

A graduate of Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill., with a B.S. in chemistry, Yarosh previously was a member of the Construction Specifications Institute, Protective Glazing Council, and the EIFS Industry Members Association.
