ASTM International announced today that it has been accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). With 1,400 members in Canada and 180 ASTM standards referenced in Canadian federal legislation, SCC accreditation further strengthens ASTM’s presence in Canada.

Taco van der Maten, product manager for X-ray fluorescence at PANalytical in Almelo, the Netherlands, has been elected to serve a three-year term on the ASTM International board of directors.

Richard A. Peri, vice president of government and industry affairs at the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) in Washington, D.C., has been elected to the ASTM International board of directors.

Robin E. Graves, Ph.D., is corporate manager of technical services at Vulcan Materials Co. in Birmingham, Ala. Graves, a licensed professional geologist, provides technical services and market development support to operating divisions in the company, which produces construction aggregates, portland cement concrete, hot mix asphalt and portland cement.

Jeffrey S. Goldfinger, director of business development at L-3 Interstate Electronics, San Diego, Calif, a division of L-3 Communications, a global top tier aerospace and defense company, has been elected to serve a three-year term on the ASTM International board of directors.

Michael R. Withers, vice president of ride engineering for Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, Calif., has been elected to serve a two-year term as vice chairman of the ASTM International board of directors.

Daniel S. Janikowski, technical manager at Plymouth Tube Co., a global supplier of stainless steel, and carbon and alloy tubing in East Troy, Wis., has been elected to serve a three-year term on the ASTM International board of directors.

Mary C. McKiel, Ph.D., standards executive with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Washington, D.C., has been elected as the 2013 ASTM International chairman of the board of directors.
