Consumer Advocate Nancy Cowles Honored by ASTM International Consumer Products Committee

Nancy Cowles, executive director, Kids In Danger, Chicago, Illinois, USA, was honored with the Margaret Dana Award by ASTM International’s consumer products committee (F15).  

An ASTM International member since 2001, Cowles was honored for her significant and meritorious service for representing the consumer voice on the committee to promote and develop voluntary standards for consumer products. 

Cowles has served as the executive director for Kids In Danger since 2001, having previously held positions with the Coalition for Consumer Rights, Midwest Women’s Center, and the Metro Seniors in Action. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Wheaton College. 

In addition to ASTM International, Cowles is a member of the International Consumer Product Health & Safety Organization.
