Charles Proctor, Ph.D., Receives Dodge Award from ASTM International

The ASTM International Harold F. Dodge Award was given to Charles Proctor, Ph.D., a private consultant based in Raleigh, N.C., by ASTM International Committee E11 on Statistical Methods. Proctor received the award "For his professional statistical expertise and publications in the fields of sampling of materials and interlaboratory studies, and his continuing technical advice in support of E11 standards development."

Proctor has been an ASTM International member since 1985 and in addition to E11 works on Committee D05 on Coal and Coke.

A professor for more than 30 years at North Carolina State University (NCSU), Proctor began his career as an assistant professor at Michigan State University. He has taught sampling, and he does research in survey statistics at NCSU.

Proctor belongs to the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Statistical Association, the International Association of Survey Statisticians, Sigma Xi, and the Psychometric Society. He earned his B.A. and M.A. in sociology and his Ph.D. in sociology-statistics from Michigan State University.
