ASTM International Thermal Insulation Committee Presents Top Annual Award to Willis J. Brayman

ASTM International’s Committee Thermal Insulation (C16) will present its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Willis J. Brayman, of Brayman Insulation Consultants, LLC, in Sterrett, Alabama., U.S.A. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.

The committee is honoring Brayman for his exceptional service, leadership, and dedication resulting in the advancement and use of ASTM International standards in a broad array of commercial and industrial applications for thermal insulation. Brayman has been a member of ASTM International since 1982, and has previously received the Award of Appreciation (2005) and the Honors Award (2009), both from the committee on thermal insulation. 

Brayman is president of engineering and technical services with Brayman Insulation Consultants, LLC. He has previously served at Rock Wool Manufacturing Co., Ryder Industries, Inc., and Standard Asbestos & Manufacturing Co. Inc.

In addition to ASTM, Brayman is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, & Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc., and the Southwest Insulation Contractors Association.
