ASTM International Plastic Piping Systems Committee Presents Top Annual Award to White G. Jee

ASTM International’s committee on plastic piping systems (F17) presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to White G. Jee of Sasol Chemicals North America LLC, in Houston, Texas, USA. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.

The committee honored Jee for outstanding dedication, meritorious service, and leadership in the development of nationally recognized standards that enhance the reliability, durability, and safety of plastic in piping systems.

Jee has been a member of ASTM International since 1996.  The committee previously honored Jee with the Special Service Award in 2004, the Paul Finn Memorial Award in 2008, and the Certificate of Appreciation in 2012 and 2016. He is also a member of the committee on plastics (D20). 

Jee, senior specialist – technical services of Sasol Chemicals North America LLC, has previously held positions with Ingenia Polymers Corporation, INEOS Olefin & Polymers USA, and The Dow Chemical Company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Mississippi State University and a master’s degree in industrial management from the University of Houston at Clear Lake City.  

In addition to ASTM International, Jee is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Plastic Piping Institute, and the Society of Plastic Engineers.
