ASTM International Performance of Buildings Committee Presents Top Annual Award to Paul G.Johnson

ASTM International’s Committee on Performance of Buildings (E06) has presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Paul G. Johnson of SmithGroupJJR, Inc. in Detroit, MI, U.S.A. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.

The committee honored Johnson for honorable leadership and personal dedication. He has been a member of ASTM since 1984. He received the Award of Appreciation in 2007.

Johnson is the principal of SmithGroupJJR Inc, leader of the Building Technology Studio of the company, and leader of Construction Administration for the Detroit office. He has been with SmithGroupJJR, Inc. since 1986, having previously served as a project architect.

In addition to ASTM, Johnson is a member of the International Code Council, the National Institute of Building Standards, and the National Roofing Contractors Association, is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and the American Institute of Architecture, where he is a fellow.
