ASTM International Meeting in South America Focuses on Cement and Concrete

ASTM International, one of the largest international standards development and delivery systems in the world, conducted a virtual training course for members in South America on March 7.

The topic of the virtual meeting, which was presented in Spanish, was “Sustainability of Cement and Concrete and Supporting ASTM Standards.” Cesar Constantino, senior director of process and quality at Titan America LLC in Deerfield Beach, Fla., and a member of ASTM International, led the meeting. ASTM International has played a major role in helping to fulfill the world's sustainability needs through the development of consensus standards.

Constantino presented information on ASTM International Committees C01 on Cement, C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates and E60 on Sustainability to more than 65 Spanish-speaking ASTM members from Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Panama, Peru, Guatemala and Costa Rica. A recording of the training can be found at www.astm.org/GLOBAL/archived_web_training.html.

Each trade association provides instantaneous electronic access to published ASTM standards (historical and redline), research reports and the Digital Library content through an Online Center. There are currently Online Centers in Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico and Panama. Contact information for ASTM Online Centers can be found at www.astm.org/GLOBAL/online_center.html.
