ASTM International’s committee on Manufactured Masonry Units (C15) will present its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to A. Rhett Whitlock, President of WDP & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc. in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, U.S.A. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.

The committee is honoring Whitlock for his exceptional dedication to preparing standards that are related to the manufacturing of masonry units. He has been a member of ASTM since 1985, having previously won the Alan H. Yorkdale Memorial Award (1997).

Aside from ASTM, Whitlock is a member of The Masonry Society, the International Masonry Society, National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Construction Specifications Institute. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Clemson University.
