ASTM International to Host Workshop on Particle Impact Ignition

ASTM International is hosting a Workshop on Particle Impact Ignition in Oxygen Enriched Environments, to be held Apr. 25 – 26, 2023 at the NASA White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico (USA).

The workshop is organized by ASTM International’s compatibility and sensitivity of materials in oxygen enriched atmospheres committee (G04) and will be held in conjunction with the April standards development meetings of the committee.

This workshop will provide a forum and opportunity for participants to share research and test data about particle impact ignition of construction materials used in pressurized oxygen enriched environments. It will also promote collaboration on potential new standards development and new test methodologies.

Possible topics for this workshop include, but are not limited to:

  • Current testing and test methods;
  • Research and modeling;
  • Evaluation of potential test standard(s) development; and
  • Future Work.

To be considered for speaking at the workshop, please email your 300-word abstract to workshop chairs Stephen Peralta at stephen.f.peralta@nasa.gov and Gwenael Chiffoleau at gwenael@wha-intl.com no later than Feb. 28, 2023.
