ASTM International Honors Vincent Drnevich with Outstanding Achievement Award

ASTM International has presented the A. Ivan Johnson Outstanding Achievement Award to Vincent Drnevich for his contributions to ASTM’s soil and rock committee (D18).

Drnevich is one of four recipients of the award for the year. A regular ASTM International member since 1972, Drnevich had been previously honored by the organization with four Richard E. Ladd Standards Development Awards (2004, 2008, 2015, 2016), two C.A. Hogentogler Awards (1979, 2014), the D18 Special Service Award (1990, 2002, 2022), the Award of Merit (1993), and more.

Drnevich currently serves as a professor emeritus of civil engineering at Purdue University, a position he has held since 2010, with a career focused on research, technical activities, and administration within the field. His other professional affiliations and memberships include the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Society for Engineering Education, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the Indiana Society of Professional Engineers. Drnevich is also a cofounder of the Purdue Geotechnical Society.
