ASTM International Honors Michael J. Ruddy with Top Annual Award from Key Committee

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Michael J. Ruddy, director of quality/technical services at NOV Tuboscope, for his contributions to the nondestructive testing committee (E07). 

The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Ruddy was honored for his outstanding service, exemplary technical leadership, and significant contributions to the committee. 

An ASTM International member since 1992, Ruddy also received the 25 Years of Service Award (2017) and Charles W. Briggs Award (2009). He has served in his current position since 2019, having previously held positions at Oilfield Material Consultants, Baker Hughes Vetco, DJ Inspection Services, and Patterson Inspection before joining NOV Tuboscope in 1995.

Ruddy earned an NDT Level III certification in nondestructive testing from the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) for magnetic particle testing, ultrasonic testing, penetrant testing, electromagnetic testing, and magnetic flux leakage testing. In addition to ASTM International, he is also a member of ASNT.
