ASTM International’s nondestructive testing committee (E07) has presented its 2023 Charles W. Briggs Award to Curtis Powell.

The Charles W. Briggs Award is conferred for continuous and outstanding contributions to the work of committee E07 through its subcommittees, sections, and task forces. Powell was recognized for his over 40 years of experience in quality management and inspection.

An ASTM International member since 2000, Powell is now semi-retired, working part-time as a consultant. He previously worked for PCC Structurals, Inc. for over 39 years and most recently, for Element Materials Technology.

In addition to ASTM International, Powell is a member of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT).
