ASTM International Henry Gardner Subcommittee Chair of the Year Award Honors Elizabeth G. Haslbeck

Elizabeth G. Haslbeck, an ecologist with the Carderock Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center in West Bethesda, Md., has been named the 2005 recipient of the Henry A. Gardner Award for Subcommittee Chair of the Year for her outstanding contributions in leading D01.45 on Marine Coatings, a part of ASTM Committee D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials and Applications.

Haslbeck, an ASTM International member since 1994, lives in Derwood, Md.

In her position, Haslbeck focuses on marine coating systems, biofouling and antifouling coatings, controlled release mechanisms and release rates, hull maintenance, and related environmental issues. She is a graduate of Western Maryland College with a B.S. in biology and French, and of American University with an M.S. in marine science.
