ASTM International Green Award Given to R. D. Wiebe

René D. Wiebe, fleet sales manager for Wynn's/ITW in Azusa, Calif., has received the Daniel H. Green Award from ASTM International Committee D15 on Engine Coolants. The committee honored Wiebe for his many years of outstanding service and active participation in the work of the committee. Wiebe, an ASTM International member since 1992, is currently the D15 recording secretary, chair of Subcommittee D15.15 on Recycled Engine Coolant, vice chair of D15.92 on Terminology, and secretary of the executive subcommittee.

Wiebe lives in Glendora, Calif.

Following positions as a chemist and laboratory manager at BG Products in Wichita, Kan., Wiebe joined Wynn Oil Co. as a coolant specialist. After being promoted to laboratory manager, he assumed his current position with Wynn's/ITW in 2004. He has been involved with research and development of aftermarket fuel, lubricant, and engine coolant products and associated maintenance services as well as maintaining product lines. Recently, he has focused on business development in the heavy duty and fleet markets.

Wiebe, who holds a B.A. in chemistry from Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kan., is a member of The Maintenance Council, a division of the American Trucking Association; the Society of Automotive Engineers; and the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers.
