ASTM International Fatigue and Fracture Committee Presents Top Annual Award to Mark A. James

Today, ASTM International’s Committee on Fatigue and Fracture (E08) will present its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Mark A. James, of Arconic Technology Center, in New Kensington, PA, U.S.A. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.

The committee is honoring James for exceptional and sustained technical leadership contributions for the development and update of fatigue crack growth and fracture mechanics test methods, task group, subcommittee, and committee leadership, and symposia and publication activities. James has been a member of ASTM International since 2000, having previously received the Award of Appreciation (2013).

James is a Technical Specialist in Aerospace and Defense with Arconic Technology Center. He has previously held positions at the National Institute of Aerospace, and as a National Research Council Fellow at NASA.
