ASTM International Donates Orion Gas Meter for New George Clay Fire Truck

ASTM International continued its support of area fire companies with a donation of $2,030 to the George Clay Fire Company in West Conshohocken, Pa. This donation was used by George Clay to purchase an MSA Orion gas meter for use on the company’s new 2010 KME 100-foot aerial fire truck.

According to Dave Frankenfield, Chair, George Clay Fire Company Trustees, and Assistant Engineer, George Clay, the gas meter monitors oxygen, carbon monoxide and explosive gas levels at the various incidents to which the fire company responds. The meter will allow respondents to monitor air quality in confined space incidents.
