ASTM International Coolant Committee Honors Kevin Shannon

ASTM International’s engine coolants and related fluids committee (D15) has conferred its Daniel H. Green Award to Kevin Shannon, research and development manager at Southwest Research Institute.

The award is given in recognition of many years of outstanding service and active participation in the work of the committee.

An ASTM International member since 2014, Shannon had been previously honored by the committee with Raymond H. Rudisill Award (2019). His career focuses include analytical instrumentation, product and lab management, fuels, lubricants, and coolants/heat transfer fluids.

Shannon has held his current position at Southwest Research Institute since 2019, and has been with the institute since 1991, working as a scientist in a variety of positions, most recently principal scientist.

Shannon received his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Oklahoma in 1991, and his M.S. in environmental science in 1994 from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
