ASTM International Concrete Pipe Committee Presents Top Annual Award to Joe Lundy

ASTM International’s Committee on Concrete Pipe (C13) has presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Joe Lundy of the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Texas, U.S.A. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.

The committee honored Lundy for exceptional leadership and outstanding contributions to C13. He has been a member of ASTM since 2002, serving as the C13.07 subcommittee chairman from 2011 to 2014. He received the ASTM C13 Spangler Award for outstanding technical contributions in 2008.

Lundy is an adjunct professor in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Texas at Arlington. He has been at the university since 2007, having previously served as a structural engineer at Hanson Pipe and Precast for 33 years.

In addition to ASTM, Lundy is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Concrete Pipe Association, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, the American Concrete Institute, and the Structural Engineering Institute.
