ASTM International Committee on Sensory Evaluation Honors Suzanne Pecore with David R. Peryam Award

Suzanne Pecore, sensory consultant with P & D Consulting, LLC, in Pasadena, Calif., has received the David R. Peryam Award from ASTM International Committee E18 on Sensory Evaluation.

The committee noted Pecore’s continuous and outstanding contributions to the development of sensory evaluation methods and their application to industry. Committee E18 has also awarded Pecore with the Award of Appreciation in 1999, the Award of Merit in 2006, and the Award of Appreciation in 2016. In 2013, Pecore was honored with a General Mills Bell Achievement Award.

Pecore previously served as a sensory group leader for McKesson Contract Research, a manager of sensory and flavor research for the NutraSweet Company, and a principal scientist for General Mills, Inc. She specializes in sensory and consumer research within the food and beverage industry. 

Outside of ASTM, Pecore is a member of the Society of Sensory Professionals Executive Committee, the Pangborn Symposia Executive Committee, and the Institute of Food Technology.
