ASTM International Committee on Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels, and Lubricants Honors Andy Pickard

Andy L. Pickard, a consultant from Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, was honored with the Sydney D. Andrews Scroll of Achievement from ASTM International’s committee on petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants (D02). 

Pickard, who joined ASTM International in 1983, was honored for his many contributions to advancing the aims of the committee. He has previously received the Award of Appreciation (2006), the George V. Dryoff Award (2009), the Award of Excellence (2004-2013), the Frank W. Reinhart Award (2015), all from the committee. Pickard also received the Award of Merit in 2007. 

Pickard, now a consultant, previously served in a number of positions at Petro-Canada between 1979 and 2003, including as a lab supervisor, technical services manager, and senior fuels specialist. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of British Columbia, a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Western Ontario, and completed post-doctorate studies in chemistry at the University of Chicago. 

In addition to ASTM International, Pickard is a member of the Association of the Chemical Profession of British Columbia, the Canadian Chemical Society, and SAE International.
