ASTM International Committee on Forensic Sciences Honors Susan Hetzel with Forensic Sciences Award

Susan Hetzel, senior analytical chemist with S-E-A, Ltd., in Columbus, Ohio, USA, has received the Forensic Sciences Award from ASTM International’s committee on Forensic Sciences (E30).

The committee recognized Hetzel for her continuous and outstanding contributions to the development of standards for forensic sciences as well as excellence in leadership of the subcommittee on criminalistics. She has been a member of ASTM International since 2000.

Hetzel, senior analytical chemist with S-E-A, Ltd. Since 1989, previously served as a researcher with the Battelle Memorial Institute. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, USA.

In addition to ASTM International, Hetzel is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the American Board of Criminalistics, the International Association of Arson Investigators, and the Organization of Scientific Area Committees for Forensic Sciences.
