ASTM International Committee on Corrosion of Metals Honors Francine S. Bovard with Francis L. LaQue Memorial Award

Francine S. Bovard, technical specialist, metallurgy, quality and standards with Arconic in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, USA, has received the Francis L. LaQue Memorial Award from ASTM International Committee on Corrosion of Metals (G01).

A member of ASTM since 2013, Bovard was specifically recognized for her contributions in the development of corrosion controls standards for aluminum and its alloys and for her outstanding achievements in the application of aluminum alloys in industry.

Bovard has been with Arconic since 2016, having previously served as a technical specialist with Alcoa, and a technician with Sandia National Laboratory. Bovard holds an associate degree in metallurgy from Penn State University, a bachelor degree in chemistry, and a master degree in material science, both from the University of Pittsburgh.

In addition to ASTM International, Bovard is a member of SAE International, and the Aluminum Association Technical Committee on Products and Standards.
