ASTM International Committee on Copper and Copper Alloys Honors Eugene Golebiowski

Eugene A. Golebiowski, a consultant from Saint Charles, Missouri, USA, was honored with the Copper Club Award from ASTM International’s committee on copper and copper alloys (B05). 

Golebiowski, who joined ASTM International in 1985, was recognized for his years of service to the committee, and for significant contributions in the technical content and continual maintenance of refined copper specifications. The committee previously honored Golebiowski with the Award of Appreciation (2007) and the Arthur Cohen Memorial Distinguished Service Award (2013). 

Golebiowski has previously served as a project manager with Mueller Industries and Cerro Copper Company, vice president and general manager of operations at Warrenton Refining Company, and superintendent of chemical operations and general plant superintendent with Phelps Dodge Refining Corporation, among others and has extensive experience in pyrometallurgical refining of copper. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in operations research at the West Texas State University. 

In addition to ASTM International, Golebiowski is a member of The Metallurgical Society and the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
