ASTM International Committee on Amusement Rides and Devices Honors C. W. Craven with Jimmy Floyd Award

The ASTM International committee on amusement rides and devices (F24) has honored C. W. Craven, president and general manager of Skyride Enterprises Inc. in Puyallup, Washington, USA, with the Jimmy Floyd Award. 

The Jimmy Floyd Award is in memory of Floyd’s many years of exemplary service to ASTM International and the amusement ride industry, and whose life was a shining example of all the best characteristics of a leader and friend.

Craven was recognized for many years of dedicated service, for outstanding technical contributions to the development and improvement of amusement ride standards, and for invaluable leadership resulting in the use and application of ASTM International standards within the amusement industry. He has been a member of ASTM International since 1997. 

Craven has served in his current position with Skyride Enterprises Inc. since 2008, additionally serving with Fairlift Inc of Salem, Oregon, USA and with Linehan Creek Ltd. in Dayton, Nevada, USA. Craven has previously served in a variety of roles with Setpoint Inc., and Doppelmayr CTEC Inc.

In addition to ASTM International, Craven is a member of the Amusement Industry Manufacturers and Suppliers International, Northwestern Showmen’s Club, National Ski Areas Association, National Association of Amusement Ride Safety Officials, Showmen’s League of America, Pacific Northwest Ski Area Association, and more.
